Nursing

Public Health Nursing Services promotes community wellness, prevents disease, and protects public health through education, direct care, and collaboration with local partners.

Public health nursing is the practice of improving community health by addressing the physical, mental, and social well-being of individuals and families within their environments. Our nurses work to prevent illness, promote healthy behaviors, and ensure access to essential health services.

Many of our services are mandated by state and federal programs and are delivered by licensed public health nurses and support staff. Services include immunizations, managing communicable disease investigations and follow-ups, coordinating chronic disease prevention programs, facilitating community health education workshops, and responding to public health emergencies. We also partner with schools, clinics, and community organizations to address health disparities and improve access to care.
